Lighting Your Web Videos
I don’t care what you’ve heard, lighting your web videos is really easy to do. Really. And, it doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to buy lighting equipment.
I have a professional 3 light kit for lighting my web videos that cost me $179.00, plus I spent another $50 to buy the case to store everything. When I am not using it, the bag with all of the equipment goes in my closet. Actually, that’s not entirely true. I keep one of the main lights in the office in my closet, so that I can grab it at a moments notice when I want to shoot a video.
The lighting kit comes with everything I need. Three stands, three lights (including bulbs and attachments) and two umbrellas. You’ll hear people talk about “3 Point Lighting” when it comes to video. That’s what this kit was made for. The company that makes it is called “Impact”.
In the video above you’ll hear me give you more specifics about the kit. I could have easily spent a good deal more money for a lighting kit. But why? I’m not shooting The Godfather Part 5, I am shooting video for the web.
Yes, I want the video to look good, and it will using this lighting kit. The point I am trying to make, and one you’ll hear me make over and over is, you do not need to spend a lot of money to do quality web video.
